Meet The Pininfarina Battista

Automobili Pininfarina entered the electric mobility scene with its Pininfarina Battista car, which was shown at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Pininfarina has always been credited with adding a sense of finesse and flair to car designs. However, the company never built cars bearing its brand. With the launch of the Battista, Pininfarina aimed to leave its mark on the all-electric production hypercar, and it succeeded in this endeavor with flying colors.

So what makes the Battista exciting?

Just read the sections below, and you’ll get the answer to the above question.

It is one of the quickest-production electric sports cars

Take in the following information –

  • The Pininfarina Battista's top speed is electronically limited to 222 MPH.
  • The Pininfarina Battista 0-60 MPH time is a mere 1.79 seconds.
  • The Battista takes 10.5 seconds to cross the 186 miles per hour mark!

It is a very expensive and very limited production car

Automobili Pininfarina has decided to limit the production of the Battista to just 150 copies which includes special editions. This makes the car pretty limited in number. On the other hand, the car is pretty expensive since its sticker price is a whopping $2.2 million!

It is a quad-motor powered electric sports car

The car has four separate high-performance electric motors that are attached to its four wheels. The combined output of these motors is 1900 HP – approximately 475 horsepower per wheel! It is like the Battista has a fire-breathing fully modified Nissan Skyline GT-R 34 sitting at each axle and an additional 100 horsepower to spare!

It offers quite a bit of range despite EV battery tech limitations

Electric Supercars are meant for sprints, not marathons. The reason is simple. Existing electric vehicle battery technology is pretty limiting. Still, Pininfarina managed to offer their Battista with a range of 295 miles per charge!

Yes, it’s a Pininfarina but not a Ferrari!

Sure the car is from the house of Pininfarina that has been instrumental in making Ferrari a global brand but don’t you dare call the Battista a Ferrari! Ferraris are fire-breathing V-12 engine-equipped four-wheeled monsters. The Battista surely is powerful and offers impressive tarmac performance but it is still an Electric Vehicle! However, Pininfarina used to be a mere car designing studio, and with the launch of the Battista, the brand positions itself as an independent automaker – which is quite a feat!
